East Harlem, located between 110th and 125th Street, and from Fifth Avenue to the East River, is known for its diversity and cultural mix. Housing options are aplenty – from row-houses to studios, from one and two-bedroom co-ops to renovated tenements.
Big draws in East Harlem are space and amenities. Don’t be surprised to find apartments with a dining room, an outdoor garden, or even parking.
Large rental complexes like Hampton Court (complete with gyms, garden decks and retail shopping) are now being joined in East Harlem by luxury condos offering views of the East River, the George Washington and RFK (Triborough) Bridges. As for amenities, this neighborhood has a number of local dining options (lots of decently priced and delicious Spanish restaurants), corner bodegas and coffee shops – not to mention Target and Costco are nearby on 117th Street facing the East River.
