Vessel will reopen at Hudson Yards

The New York Post reported that the Vessel will welcome visitors back several months after a 21-year-old man leapt to his death from the structure in January. New measures will be in place: Related is tripling security staff and will add signage that includes messaging from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. And visitors will no longer be allowed to come alone.

Hudson Yards Vessel to Be Dismantled

In a joint statement, the Vessel’s designer Thomas Heatherwick and Hudson Yards developer, Related Companies, announced that the 150-foot-tall copper-clad staircase will be dismantled for safety reasons.

Instead, a digital rendering of the structure will be sold as a non-fungible token (NFT) in an auction next month. Earnings from the sale will be used to cover the costs of disassembling the structure.

Amazon takes new offices in Hudson Yards a year after leaving LIC

Amazon has inked a lease in midtown Manhattan less than a year after abruptly withdrawing from plans to bring half of its second North American headquarters to Queens, according to the the Seattle-based company.

The e-commerce giant has signed a lease for 335,000 square feet in the Hudson Yards where it will have more than 1,500 employees.
