Starting October 19, the NYC Ferry service will adjust its pricing: standard single-ride tickets move to $5 (up from $4.50), 10-trip passes to $30 (up from $29), and reduced-fare tickets to $1.50 (up from $1.45). The 2-day unlimited pass stays locked at $15 and becomes a permanent offering. This fare adjustment aims to absorb inflation-driven operational costs while shielding daily commuters, coming at a time when system ridership has hit all-time highs and public subsidies per ride have fallen significantly to $8.33. Alongside the rate update, the city is broadening support for families by extending discounted weekday school travel to middle schoolers (grades 6–8), joining high school students who already benefit from the program.
