The first tower in Miami taller than 1,000 feet

The Waldorf Astoria is set to become the first ever tower in Miami taller than 1,000 feet (it will top off at 1,049 feet).

According to a representative of the developer, the Waldorf Astoria is planned to include: 205 hotel rooms and 360 residential units.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place earlier this month, and construction is now underway.

First building in vast Little Haiti project gets OK

The Special Area Plan and development agreement include a maximum of 2,630 residences, hotel rooms, nearly 350,000 square feet of commercial-retail uses, and more than 1.9 million square feet of offices.

The first building is designed as a 25-story mixed-use building with 349 residential units13,010 square feet of commercial-retail uses and 10,093 square feet of office space, with an adjacent parking garage with spaces for 393 vehicles and amenities, connected to the tower.

Work to begin on Miami Beach’s Tallest Building

Terra, GFO Investments and New Valley plan to break ground this month on Five Park, a 48-story, roughly 280-unit tower at 500 Alton Road that will become the tallest building in Miami Beach at 519 feet upon completion in 2023.

Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus debuts final Renzo Piano building

The last of three buildings that Renzo Piano Building Workshop designed for Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus in West Harlem officially debuted earlier this week. The three-story building, known as the Forum, is located on a triangular lot at the intersection of West 125th Street and Broadway. The 56,000-square-foot structure will serve as a space for academic conferences, and public meetings and discussions.
